Skål Talk - January 13th 2016

Wednesday 13 January, Skål Monaco organized its first edition of Skal Talks, an initiative leveraging the expertise and inspirational power of our Skalleagues. Skal Talks are about sharing, inspiring, contributing in reshaping tourism and travel, challenging status quo, opening up our minds and widening our vision of the world.

The guest speaker was world class photographer Nick Danziger, member of Skal Monaco, who graced the audience with a moving testimony on humanity illustrated by some of his most famous photos. Nick has travelled in the most remote countries of the world. He has lived in the intimacy of the leaders of the world (Presidents, Prime Ministers…) as well as the voiceless people, sharing their lives and discovering the generosity of the poorest. He deliverd a heartfelt presentation, acclaimed by the audience. www.nickdanziger.com

This event was hosted by the International University of Monaco, which is very much involved in our Young Skal Initiative, 10 members of which were attending and will take a growing role in the life of our Skal Club in Monaco.

Axel Hoppenot, President of Skal Monaco insisted in his introductory speech on the key priorities for our Club in 2016: firstly, make the 77th Skal International Congress memorable (29Oct-1Nov16) and make it an opportunity for Monaco to shine and demonstrate our innovation skills and knowhows; secondly, broaden our horizons by leveraging the inspirational power of our Skalleagues through the Skal Talks initiative; thirdly by developing an ambitious Young Skal project with the strong support of the International University of Monaco and its leaders.

The next Skal Talk will be held on 15 March at the IUM. The guest speaker will be Filip Soete, who will tell us everything about the new concept developed for the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, a whole new customer experience and business opportunity. He will also share and decrypt with us the current key trends in travel, international flows, carriers plans. Most interesting in order to better understand potential opportunities for international travel in 2016.
